August: The Month of the Move
Posted on: Tuesday, August 25th, 2020Did you know that around 80% of moves that happen throughout the United States happen from April to September?! However, with the recent COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that April through June were a bit slower, meaning that August could see a huge surge in people making a move before the school year starts. So, what does this mean for those who are considering a move in the near future?
Precautions Are Still Being Taken
Just because we are in the thick of moving season doesn’t mean that precautions are not being taken, because they are. Our workers are still wearing masks, gloves and disinfecting equipment. Anyone who has been sick is not coming into work at all, to avoid spreading this to our employees as well as our customers. So, that is one thing that you don’t have to worry about at all.
Stay Organized with Checklists
Since this is a busy month for everyone, it is back to school season, many people are starting to see their work pick up and the like, we suggest checklists to ensure that you stay organized. This moving checklist should have a list of all the things that you need to do, along with any special notes of things that you may need to pack up that are special.
Call your Moving Company Early
Here at Dunmar Moving we always strive to make sure that the moving date we give you is going to fit in with your schedule. However, since this is considered the tip of the busy months for professional movers, that doesn’t always mean that your date will be available. We suggest calling as soon as you have a date to move to ensure you are not left out in the cold! Whether this is a month before the move or two weeks, as much advance notice as possible increases your chances of getting a date that works.
