Red Flags for Hiring a Moving Company
Posted on: Wednesday, April 25th, 2018We all know that if you are moving, hiring professionals to handle this move is the best option that you have. Why is this? Because professionals can get you moved and settled into your new home in half the time that it will take you to do it yourself. In addition, it allows for the stress level you have to decline rapidly when someone else is handling the moving. However, we have heard many people come to Dunmar Moving who have gotten burned in the past from working with moving companies. In most cases, these people chose a moving company that should have raised a few red flags and suffered the consequences. That is why we have developed a short list of items to watch out for, and if you see them, you would be better off to look elsewhere.
- When you call, does the person answer with their company name or do they simply say “Moving company?” This can be a huge sign that the person may be running more than one company in order to gain more customers.
- Does the company give you an outline of their services? If the company simply says that yes they will move you without really seeing what you have to move, offering their packing services or the like, then this could mean that they are not on the up and up.
- If the company does not give you anything in writing such as the date of pickup and delivery of your items, then this is a huge red sign. By law, moving companies have to provide you with this information for consumer safety.
- Check with the BBB and various moving organizations about this company. Do this research before committing to a moving company so that you know you are getting a company that is going to be there for you!
In the end, only work with a company that you can truly trust. Here at Dunmar Moving we value our customers and we want to ensure that we are doing a perfect job for you. Thus, if you are moving in the area, be sure to give us a call!
