Does Moving a Mattress Really Require A Pro?

There are tons of questions that we get as professional movers. They range from what we can move, what we can’t move, to how something special should be moved, like a piano. However, not many people ask about their mattress. They often think that as long as they throw some quilts around it or cover it in plastic wrap that this is good to go. 

The problem is that in many cases, a mattress that is not properly cared for while moving is going to be a big issue later!

With this being said, we have a few tips that you are going to want to use to make sure that your bed is moved the right way!

1. Always remove the bedding from the mattress
2. Make sure to use a mattress protector or even have this to slide into mattress boxes.
3. When actually moving this item, do not let is twist, hit the walls, or other hurtful acts. Remember, when you drop this you could damage it.

It sounds simple enough. But corners cannot be cut when dealing with a mattress. This is why you may want to consider letting a pro do this for you. Many people have had problems in the past that resulted in buying a new mattress as the last one may have broken springs and other issues.

If you are moving, despite you thinking that it may be easy to move some items, remember that those larger items…like beds, are often more difficult.
